I got to sleep in until 7:00 this morning, rather than my usual 5:45. Woop woop! I did a little graphic design work from 7:30-8:30, then signed into Lyft. I got a few requests within an hour and met some cool people, who I had some great conversations with! One of them just happened to be my next door neighbor. It’s always good to know your neighbors!
I worked Lyft until about 10:30, then came home and started working on my next blog post. That thing ended up taking me about 4 hours to write! But I really am finding it to be therapeutic, enlightening and hopefully inspiring to others 🙂
At 4:00 I signed back into Lyft, but waited around for about an hour before I got any requests. I ended up downtown and found myself with a short temper and getting really annoyed by people. I figured maybe it was because I have been working out more and cutting back on my carbs/food intake. I decided to take a Relax Now supplement to help take the edge off, instead of using food, because I know I would have chosen chocolate if given the choice. Within 1 minute, I felt a sense of calmed nerves, however, the way people were acting out on the roads, one tablet just wasn’t enough. So I took another one. That boosted my chipper-ness! I felt like I just ate a whole box of chocolates, sans the fat, calories and bloating. BOOM. I was back in the game 🙂
So I gave a Lyft to this one girl who literally knew NOTHING about nutrition. I was astounded. She moved to San Diego from Chicago a year ago and said she didn’t like how San Diego was all “healthy” and missed her comfort food from back home. I asked her what she ate that day and this is what she told me: Breakfast was instant oatmeal with 3 splendas and lunch was a bag of peanut M&M’s. “Is that bad?” she asked.
This girl looked like a healthy, normal girl but she didn’t have a clue on how to eat properly! The questions she asked me seriously caused me to be absolutely dumbfounded. I honestly figured everyone knew at least a little bit about nutrition (like sugar is NOT good for you, and Splenda is even worse!,) but this situation just goes to show you that you really can learn something from everyone! So I gave her my contact info and told her we have nutrition classes, free workouts, and other free info for her if she is ever interested in learning more about nutrition and fitness. She actually seemed intrigued! I really hope I can help her.
I finished driving for Lyft at 6:00 and met up with my Herbalife coach and business mentor, Allison, for my belated birthday dinner celebration. We went to Ranchos Cocina in North Park and it was delicious! I splurged and had some chips and salsa and then got the chicken fajitas with corn tortillas. Man, was I freakin’ starving! I saved up my calories all day, just so I could enjoy this dinner.
Allison and I had a great time catching up and I am just so thankful to have her in my life! She’s truly an amazing and inspirational woman!
I headed home after dinner around 8:00. I had every intention of going to the gym but I decided to let my stomach digest a bit first. I laid down in bed to check some emails, and next thing I knew, I was falling asleep. I have been working really hard all week, pretty much working non-stop, 16-hour days. I know if you want to be successful bad enough, there will be times where you don’t sleep for days. Well, I also believe in listening to your body, and my body felt like it hadn’t slept for days (probably because I put up a fight with Mr. Sandman every night,) so I made a decision. My body finally wanted to go to bed early, so I didn’t fight against it tonight. 🙂
