So, yesterday was my 33rd birthday. I'm not sure how I feel about that just yet... I am still trying to wrap my head around the fact that I am now a woman in her 30's.
Let me say it again: I am a woman (when did I become a woman? I still feel like a kid!) in her 30's (this is a joke, right? I'm supposed to be a kid forever!)
I definitely don't feel like I could be the age of 33; mostly I feel like I could be about 23. I've been told I look like I'm 23, so we'll just go with that kind soul who told me that!
I still feel the same and pretty much look the same as I did when I was 23. I think the only difference is the fact that I'm now wiser, more mature and more career-oriented.
That said, I've decided what my game plan is going to be for this blog. I heard something today about how valuable a daily journal can be in getting results and fully manifesting your dream life. So, I'm going to make it a personal daily challenge, and part of my own daily personal development, to try and blog at the end of each day about what I did that day, what I learned from the day, and what I wish to accomplish next. I believe this will help keep myself accountable and on track, but may also help me work through whatever is going on in my life. Someday, I'd like to have it to look back on, to see what worked for me, what didn't, and also to see how far I've come in my entrepreneurship journey. I already wish I would have started a journal [blog] a year and a half ago when I quit my full-time job to start my own business. I guess it's better late than never!
Here's a helpful article I found on Google about journaling:
Let's now talk about what I have done so far in my 33rd year of life!
Yesterday, I woke up to my alarm at 9am, hungover from a party I went to the night before. I immediately remembered somewhere in that terrible foggy headache of mine why I don't really drink anymore; feeling like sh*t, just because I wanted to have some "fun" in the moment, is just not worth it to me. Regardless, I decided not to let that keep me bed-ridden, especially since it was my birthday, but also because I had to be up and ready to go in the next 30 minutes. I jumped out of bed, tripped over my brother, whom I forgot was camping out on my floor for the past week, and bounded to the kitchen to prep my water and snacks for my day at the beach. I then got my tablets and Herbalife shake in me, and immediately felt like a million bucks. GAME ON.
A fellow health coach picked me and my brother up and we all headed to South Mission Beach for our 24Fit Beach Workout. It was a hot, yet beautiful day. My kind of day 🙂 The beach was already packed at 10am and we had a huge turn out for the workout! At the end of the workout, a few of the coaches announced it was my birthday and everyone sang "Happy Birthday" to me. It made me feel really special, and I have to be honest, I teared up a little. I am seriously so grateful to have found Herbalife and this wonderful group of people.
Here are some pics from the workout:
After the beach workout, I did Zumba and then played beach volleyball with a bunch of coaches, as well as my brother. My brother doesn't exactly do well in the sun, as some would refer to him as a "ginger." The poor kid stayed out in the sun all day, just for me, and ended up pretty sun burnt, even with sunscreen. I give him props. My friend Andy, from Boston, was also in town so he came out and played some volleyball with us as well. After about 2 hours, we all felt it was time to grub, so we called it a day and went our separate ways. My brother, Andy and I headed back to my new place in Hillcrest and got lunch at Baja Betty's. I told the server it was my birthday when he asked me if I was over 21 (hah!) and he frolicked back with a huge birthday penis crown made out of balloons. He also brought me a free shot. That's a good place to go for a Kodak moment on your birthday! Ha!
Anyways, we scarfed down a bunch of scrumptious Mexican food and then walked back to my place. Andy took off, my brother took a nap, and I watched a movie in bed. It was glorious. I then checked all of my "Happy Birthday" messages on Facebook and again just felt so special! I have amazing people in my life! So lucky 🙂
The next morning, was a Monday. I slept in until 8, and missed the 6:30am workout. Man, was I tired. I did go to the 9:30am workout at El Toyon Park and got a really good workout in! I usually help lead them, but today I got to workout. Today was another hot one! I was dripping in sweat. I actually felt pretty good working out and was actually the first one to complete the "Deck of Cards" workout out of the group. Thank goodness for Herbalife, baby! Even after all the junk food I ate last week and the lack of exercise, I still feel like I'm in pretty good shape!
After the workout, I headed home and just did some major cleaning after a crazy, whirlwind week last week. Then I worked on a graphic design project (I'm currently designing a book cover for an e-book) the rest of the day, while listening to personal development YouTube video's to get me pumped for the future and keep me motivated. I can't wait to see what I can accomplish this year!
As I close this post, I just want to say, I'm super excited for this blog to start taking off! I've been talking about starting one for long enough! #justdoit
